Located southeast of Erie County lies the town of Perry in Wyoming County. The largest employer in this area was the Perry Knitting Mills, which attracted Poles here in 1903. Seeing the productivity of these early settlers, the Company activity recruited Poles from the Buffalo and Depew area to their facility. Not having their own church, the group attended Mass in St. Joseph's Church, where a Polish speaking priest would hear confessions on a yearly basis.
By 1910, the Poles had organized a committee and sought permission from the Bishop to form a parish which they would name, St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Rev. Jozef Rudzinski arrived to take charge of the congregation and build a church with its own cemetery ajoining the church. Even though the community remained small, all the branches of religious and secular societies formed here. A parish school was never organized in Perry, but the Felician Sister did arrive to help the working mothers of the mills, by providing day care services.
In addition to these services, the Sisters assisted with church duties and also taught religioius instructions and the Polish language. By far, the Rev. Cichy served the longest term as pastor, some 17 years, a period remembered by the older members of the community as one filled with religious observations, processions and activities of all sorts. The Rev. Richard Blazejewski shares his services with St. Stanislaus and nearby St. Joseph's parish.
